As a precautionary measure, passengers were temporarily moved to the ramp area at 8:27 PM due to the strong smell of smoke.

They were allowed to return to the pre-departure area at 8:40 PM. No flights were affected by the incident.

In response to the event, CAAP emphasized the importance of passenger vigilance regarding electronic devices at airports.

“CAAP strongly encourages the public to be vigilant with their electronic gadgets at airports, ensuring they are properly inspected and in good condition to prevent any potential incidents,” the authority stated in its press release.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential risks associated with electronic devices in airport settings.

Passengers are advised to inspect their gadgets thoroughly before using airport power outlets to charge their devices.
