Amal by Malaysia Airlines, the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage arm of Malaysia Airlines, has begun its second phase of operations for the 2024 Hajj season, transporting pilgrims back to Malaysia from Saudi Arabia.

The airline plans to operate up to 55 flights between June 24 and July 20, carrying approximately 15,800 pilgrims from Jeddah and Madinah to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.

We’re humbled to continue fulfilling our role as the national carrier and airline partner to Lembaga Tabung Haji to fly these pilgrims to perform their Hajj and safe return, prioritising their safety and comfort throughout their journey.

Muhammad Najmi Mansor, Amal Chief Operations Officer

The flights will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft, configured with 284 seats. To connect pilgrims to their hometowns, Amal will operate 71 additional flights on Boeing 737-800 aircraft to various Malaysian cities.

This year, Amal is also flying its first group of Singaporean pilgrims for Hajj, along with pilgrims from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.

The airline’s partnership with Lembaga Tabung Haji, Malaysia’s pilgrimage fund board, has led to several improvements in services and operations, including the implementation of the Makkah Route initiative, which simplifies pre-departure and arrival processes in Saudi Arabia.

Amal offers specialized in-flight services for Hajj pilgrims, including religious announcements and calls to prayer.
