PAL ranks second among Southeast Asia’s most preferred carriers

Philippine Airlines has ranked second in Southeast Asia in the 2025 Flyers’ Choice Awards by AirlineRatings.com, based on thousands of verified passenger votes.

The annual Flyers’ Choice Awards are fully passenger-driven and spotlight airlines that travelers around the world rank highest across categories such as Best Cabin Crew Service, Best Uniform, and Most Eye-Catching Livery. Voting for this year’s edition opened on April 3, 2025, allowing passengers to nominate carriers based on recent travel experiences.

According to the official results released on July 30, 2025, PAL placed just behind Singapore Airlines, and ahead of Malaysia Airlines in the “Preferred Airline – Southeast Asia” category.

“We thank the voting travelers for this special honor, reflecting the trust and satisfaction that all of us in Philippine Airlines strive to earn from our passengers by delivering friendly service, an unwavering focus on safety and reliability, and the genuine care that comes from the heart,” said PAL President Richard Nuttall in a company statement.

Unlike AirlineRatings.com’s expert-led World’s Safest Airlines and World’s Best Airline rankings, the Flyers’ Choice Awards are based entirely on customer feedback. AirlineRatings.com emphasized the authenticity of the results, noting that the awards “provide authentic insight into which carriers are truly winning over passengers.”

This latest recognition adds to a series of positive developments for the Philippine flag carrier in 2025. Earlier this year, PAL was named the Best Travel Brand in the Philippines and ranked second in Southeast Asia, according to Campaign Asia-Pacific’s Southeast Asia’s Top 50 Brands. In April, it was also recognized by Cirium as the most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific region, with an on-time performance of 86.07%.
