Habagat causes 30 flight cancellations and 3 diversions nationwide

Southwest monsoon weather continues to disrupt domestic and international flights across the Philippines

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has reported additional flight disruptions as of 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 22. The disruptions are a result of adverse weather conditions brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

According to the agency’s report, a total of 30 flights have been cancelled, while three other flights have been diverted to alternate airports. The affected flights involve several domestic and international routes.

CAAP advises passengers to “regularly check the status of their flights with their respective airlines.”

The aviation authority added that it “continues to monitor the weather and coordinate with airlines and airport authorities to ensure the safe movement of air traffic.”
