Vietjet is significantly expanding its fleet with an order for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, signed during the 2025 Paris Air Show. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Airbus EVP Sales Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, also includes the potential for 50 additional aircraft in the future.

The new agreement builds on Vietjet’s longstanding partnership with Airbus.

“These modern and efficient aircraft have been instrumental in Vietjet’s growth,” said Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao. She emphasized that the order supports the airline’s role as a driver of economic growth and international connectivity.

According to Airbus, the new single-aisle jets will complement Vietjet’s recently ordered A330neo widebodies. “The A321neo and A330neo will be perfect partners for Vietjet to efficiently meet demand across its expanding network,” said de Saint-Exupéry.

Vietjet already operates a fleet of over 100 Airbus aircraft, and this new order supports the airline’s strategy to modernize its operations and expand globally.

The Airbus A321neo is the largest member of the A320neo Family. It offers over 20% fuel savings, 50% less noise, and reduced carbon emissions compared to older aircraft. The model is also equipped to fly with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with plans to reach full SAF capability by 2030.

Globally, more than 7,000 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by over 90 customers, reflecting the growing demand for fuel-efficient, high-capacity narrowbodies.
