Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Qatar Airways have officially commenced their new daily codeshare service between Manila and Doha. The strategic partnership was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Hamad International Airport (DOH) to welcome the inaugural flight.
The event was attended by top executives, including Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall and Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer Thierry Antinori, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two carriers.
“Our strategic partnership with Qatar Airways puts our valued guests in the forefront and enables us to draw from our respective strengths,” said Philippine Airlines President, Richard Nuttall. He emphasized that the collaboration will focus on developing the Philippines-Qatar air travel market and ensuring seamless connections for passengers.
Echoing this sentiment, Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Thierry Antinori, highlighted the benefits for travelers. “By working closely with Philippine Airlines, we will offer our customers from around the world a seamless travel experience and greater choice for connections to and from the Philippines, through the best hub in the Middle East.”

The daily nonstop flights are operated using Philippine Airlines’ Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The jet features a dual-class configuration with 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 341 seats in Economy Class, providing comfort for long-haul travel.
This partnership allows passengers from Manila to connect to Qatar Airways’ extensive network of over 170 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Similarly, travelers from these regions will have enhanced access to the Philippines through its flag carrier.
The daily flight schedule is as follows:
- Manila (MNL) to Doha (DOH): Flight PR684/QR4946 departs at 6:50 PM, arriving at 11:40 PM.
- Doha (DOH) to Manila (MNL): Flight PR685/QR4947 departs at 1:30 AM, arriving at 4:15 PM.
This new route complements Qatar Airways’ existing services to the Philippines, which include flights to Cebu, Clark, and Davao, further strengthening its presence in the country.
