Philippine Airlines (PAL) paid tribute to its most loyal US-based customers during a special “Million Milers Night” held at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront Hotel, celebrating their continued patronage and marking a year of strong performance and strategic growth for the flag carrier.
In 2024, PAL reported a net income of USD 151.1 million and an operating income of USD 314.4 million—the highest among locally operated airlines in the Philippines.
“A million miles flown with PAL is more than a personal milestone, it is a testament to the deep connection we have built with you,” said PAL Holdings President and COO Lucio Tan III during his welcome speech.
PAL’s Million Milers are elite frequent flyers who have accumulated at least one million miles on PAL flights. Of the 537 Million Milers globally, 154 are based in North America.
The evening also served as a platform for PAL to share its latest achievements and plans. Notably, the airline was recognized by aviation analytics firm Cirium as the most punctual airline in the Asia-Pacific for April 2025, with an 86.07% on-time performance. This follows PAL’s global Top 7 ranking for punctuality in 2024.
“Behind these achievements are the thousands of PAL professionals who work tirelessly to deliver safe, comfortable, and on-time journeys, many of whom have served you directly throughout your travels,” Tan added.
Recent leadership updates include the appointment of Richard Nuttall as President and the promotion of Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez as EVP and COO.
In his keynote message, Atty. Fernandez announced enhancements to the Upgrade Travel Certificate (UTC) program and a new partnership with Alaska Airlines for mileage earning. He also unveiled a revamped website and app featuring multi-currency pricing and support for eight languages.

PAL is also expanding its international and domestic routes, including the launch of Cebu–Ho Chi Minh City and the upcoming Manila–Da Nang service. Resumed routes include Manila–Seattle, Cauayan, and Clark–Siargao, strengthening PAL’s hubs in Cebu and Clark.
Fleet modernization remains a focus, with the airline confirming the arrival of nine Airbus A350-1000s starting in 2025 and refurbishment of 18 A321ceo aircraft.
The festive night featured performances by Ogie Alcasid and Filipino American singer Stephanie Reese, with news personality Ginger Conejero as host. PH Consul General Neil Ferrer also spoke at the event, recognizing PAL’s role in connecting Filipinos worldwide.
“From the first greeting at the airport to the final farewell on board, PAL carries more than passengers—it carries the warmth, hospitality, and pride of the Filipino people to the world,” Lucio Tan III emphasized.
