Airbus has announced its order and delivery figures for May 2025, indicating a steady, albeit slightly slower, pace compared to the previous month. The European manufacturer delivered 51 aircraft to 32 customers globally in May.

This performance shows a slight dip from April 2025, when Airbus delivered 56 aircraft to 33 customers. More notably, May saw no new gross orders logged, a contrast to the 11 gross orders recorded in April.

Despite the month-on-month variation, Airbus’s year-to-date delivery tally has now reached 243 aircraft to 61 customers by the end of May. This is up from the 192 deliveries to 58 customers recorded by the end of April, showing consistent progress towards annual targets.

As of the end of May 2025, Airbus’s cumulative gross orders for all its aircraft programs stand at 24,836. The company has now delivered a total of 16,206 aircraft throughout its history, with 14,294 of these aircraft currently in active operation worldwide.

The single-aisle A320 family continues to be an important part of Airbus’s output, alongside deliveries from its widebody A330 and A350 programs. It’s noted that the A330 delivery figures exclude two A330-900s delivered to Air Belgium via Airbus Financial Services.

The absence of new orders in May could be attributed to several factors, including the cyclical nature of aircraft sales. With the prestigious Paris Air Show set for June 16-22, 2025, it’s widely anticipated that airlines and lessors may be holding massive order announcements for this major industry event.
