Mabuhay Miles and Mileage Plan members to enjoy reciprocal earning and redemption benefits across combined networks

Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Alaska Airlines have announced a new strategic partnership that will soon allow members of both airlines’ loyalty programs to earn and redeem miles across their combined networks.

The collaboration marks a significant enhancement for travelers using either PAL’s Mabuhay Miles or Alaska’s Mileage Plan programs, providing greater flexibility and expanded options when the partnership officially launches in the coming months.

“We are proud to partner with Alaska Airlines to deliver even greater value to our Mabuhay Miles members,” said PAL Vice President for Marketing Alvin M. Miranda. “This strategic collaboration significantly expands our network and flight options, enabling our Mabuhay Miles members to enjoy enhanced connectivity and flexibility.”

The partnership will particularly benefit Filipino communities across Hawaii, California, and Washington state, who can now earn valuable Mileage Plan miles when flying on PAL’s transpacific routes.

Both airlines will offer convenient connections through PAL’s U.S. West Coast gateways – Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco – as well as via Honolulu. This arrangement gives PAL passengers improved access to Alaska Airlines’ extensive domestic U.S. network.

Looking ahead, the airlines are exploring possibilities to expand their relationship to include reciprocal codesharing arrangements, which would further enhance connectivity between the Philippines and the United States.

This new partnership also builds upon PAL’s existing collaboration with Hawaiian Airlines, another member of the Alaska Airlines Group. PAL will continue offering Hawaiian codeshare flights to Maui, Hilo, Kona, and Lihue via Honolulu, with the added benefit that Hawaiian Airlines flyers will soon be able to earn and redeem miles on Philippine Airlines flights.

Philippine Airlines currently operates the largest network of nonstop flights between the Philippines and multiple U.S. destinations, including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Honolulu.

This latest development comes as PAL launched talks for an expanded partnership with Emirates, which is expected to materialize through a codeshare partnership. It also finalized a codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways on flights between Manila and Doha.
