Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced a substantial increase in its flight services to Laoag, Ilocos Norte, in support of the Palarong Pambansa 2025. The national games are set to open on May 24 and will conclude on May 31, bringing together young athletes from across the nation.

To facilitate travel for the event, PAL is adding 74 more flights, which are expected to carry approximately 6,800 passengers. This includes athletes, coaches, and officials attending the biennial multi-sport competition.

The expanded operations include special and chartered flights directly connecting Cebu, Davao, and Legazpi (Daraga) to Laoag. These new routes provide crucial air links for participants traveling from different parts of the archipelago.

Furthermore, PAL has doubled its regular Manila-Laoag service, increasing from two to four roundtrips daily between May 24 and June 2. This increase specifically caters to the influx of passengers during the opening and closing periods of the games.

“As national flag carrier of the country, it’s an honor for us to be included and to be actively assisting this historic event,” stated PAL Vice President for Sales and Distribution, Justin Warby. “We aim to make traveling easier and more convenient for all participants through the special flights that we’ve included.”

The Palarong Pambansa, organized by the Department of Education, is an annual national sports festival showcasing the talents of student-athletes from 17 divisions in various sporting events. This year, Ilocos Norte hosts the prestigious tournament, with events spread across different venues in the province.

“It is a privilege to transport our Filipino athletes on our flights, and we wish them the best of luck in the games,” Warby added, emphasizing PAL’s support for the young competitors.

Through these augmented air operations, Philippine Airlines reaffirms its commitment to nation-building by supporting sports and youth development. The airline aims to ensure safe and seamless travel for the thousands attending this week-long sporting spectacle.
