United Airlines is expanding its presence in the Philippines by adding a second daily flight between San Francisco and Manila, giving passengers more scheduling flexibility with both morning and evening departure options.

The new service, set to begin on October 25, will be operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. This expansion maintains United’s position as the only US airline serving the Philippines, where it currently offers flights to both Manila and Cebu.

For the December 2025 schedule, the complete flight timings will be:

  • UA809: Departs San Francisco 13:45 – Arrives Manila 20:45+1 (Daily, Boeing 777-300ER)
  • UA189: Departs San Francisco 23:40 – Arrives Manila 06:50+2 (Daily, Boeing 777-300ER)
  • UA190: Departs Manila 09:55 – Arrives San Francisco 06:20 (Daily, Boeing 777-300ER)
  • UA810: Departs Manila 23:30 – Arrives San Francisco 20:00 (Daily, Boeing 777-300ER)

The new schedule provides Filipino travelers and overseas workers with both morning and evening departure options in each direction, significantly enhancing connectivity between the Philippines and the United States.

“At United, we’re changing the way people think about where they travel – by offering the greatest access to see and explore the world, whether it’s for relaxation, adventure or business,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances at United.

The additional Manila frequency comes as part of United’s broader Pacific network expansion that includes new routes to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, and Adelaide. With these additions, the airline will offer service to 32 destinations across the Pacific region.

The American carrier directly competes with Philippine Airlines (PAL) on the Manila–San Francisco route. For the summer schedule, PAL has scheduled daily flights on this high-yield route, utilizing its Boeing 777-300ER.

Beyond the Philippines, United will become the only US airline to offer flights to Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with daily service launching on October 26 from Hong Kong on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

The airline will also introduce the first-ever nonstop service between the US and Adelaide, Australia, with three-times weekly flights from San Francisco beginning December 11.
