A welcome advancement in Philippine travel infrastructure was announced as Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), Mactan Wharf Corporation, and Supercat Fast Ferry Corporation officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on February 28, 2025, establishing the Cebu+ partnership.

This new initiative aims to transform how travelers access popular island destinations in the Philippines by creating a streamlined airport-to-seaport connection system. The partnership builds upon the success of the Cebu Connect transfer hub implemented in June 2024.

Under the Cebu+ program, passengers arriving at MCIA will benefit from dedicated shuttle services to Mactan Wharf, located just a 5-minute drive away. From there, travelers can immediately board Supercat ferries to reach their island destinations.

After launching Cebu Connect, our air to air connectivity product in June, now we have Cebu+, the air to sea connectivity to the islands around Cebu. This is the second pillar of our strategy to be the main and premier gateway for tourism in the Philippines.

The MOA signing ceremony was led by key executives: Aldwin Uy, Deputy Chief Operations Officer of ACAC; Eugene Erik Lapasaran Lim, President of Mactan Wharf; and Shane Antony Arante, General Manager of Supercat.

The partnership will initially focus on connecting Cebu to Bohol, with plans to expand services to other destinations including Siquijor, Camotes Islands, and beyond in the future.

The development aligns with MCIA’s vision to position itself as the “Main Tourism Transfer Gateway” in the Philippines. This is said to be achieved by enhancing accessibility to the country’s diverse island destinations through integrated transportation solutions.
