Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) has secured the 2024 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award for Best Airport in the 5 to 15 Million Passengers Per Annum category for the Asia-Pacific region. The announcement was made public by Airports Council International (ACI) World on March 10, 2025.

This recognition holds special significance as it is based directly on passenger feedback through ACI’s global benchmarking program. The program measures passenger satisfaction in real-time at over 400 airports worldwide, providing a comprehensive assessment of customer service quality.

Athanasios Titonis, CEO of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC), expressed his gratitude to the MCIA team for their dedication to excellence in customer experience.

“We had been working hard in ensuring we bring world-class airport experience and elevate the perception of airports in the Philippines,” Titonis stated.

The award represents not just a win for Cebu but for the entire Philippines. Julius Neri, General Manager of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), shared his pride in the achievement, acknowledging the contribution of all stakeholders and partners.

“We have always been proud of what MCIA has accomplished and how it brings pride to Cebuanos. Now, it has brought pride beyond Cebu but also for the entire Philippines. We share this award to all stakeholders and partners who had been instrumental in making this happen,” Neri said.

ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci praised MCIA’s commitment to creating a memorable journey for travelers.

“Flying through MCIA is more than just a journey; it’s a carefully crafted experience,” Erbacci noted, highlighting the airport’s ability to make every passenger’s trip enjoyable.

As the second-largest airport in the Philippines, MCIA handles over 11 million international and domestic passengers annually. The facility serves as the country’s second-busiest airline hub and plays a crucial role in connecting the Philippines to local and international gateways.

MCIA, which is managed by Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, is also the first airport in the Philippines to receive Airports Council International (ACI) accreditation for both Airport Customer Experience and Airport Health Accreditation.
