Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) has officially launched operations at its new line maintenance station at General Santos International Airport after receiving regulatory approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines.

The new outstation, situated in General Santos City, serves as a crucial gateway to key provinces in Mindanao.

According to the aircraft maintenance company, the facility includes dedicated office space, controlled storage, and general storage areas. All sections are fully equipped to deliver comprehensive aircraft line maintenance services to support the region’s growing cargo and passenger operations.

Line maintenance involves routine checks and services performed on aircraft between flights to ensure operational safety and regulatory compliance. Unlike more extensive base maintenance, it is designed to be completed within short timeframes to keep aircraft in service.

The General Santos facility joins LTP’s existing network of maintenance operations, which includes their main 226,000 m² facility in Manila with five aircraft hangars capable of servicing up to six widebody and three narrowbody aircraft simultaneously.

LTP also offers line maintenance in Cebu, Clark, Davao, and Kalibo.

The company is a joint venture established in 2000 between Germany’s Lufthansa Technik and the Philippines’ MacroAsia Corporation. The company specializes in base maintenance while offering tailored line maintenance services and integrated MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) solutions.
