Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced a strategic partnership with Maya, one of the Philippines’ leading digital banking platform, to enhance its Mabuhay Miles loyalty program through expanded digital banking integration and rewards offerings.

The collaboration, announced during a signing ceremony in Manila, introduces new ways for members to earn and redeem rewards, starting with a promotional raffle for Business Class flights. Members can earn entries by conducting financial transactions through Maya until March 31, 2025.

PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng emphasized the partnership’s focus on customer benefits. “Strengthening business systems through partnerships will benefit our customers who look for enhanced rewards systems,” Ng said during the announcement.

The initiative marks PAL’s first major loyalty program partnership with a digital banking platform, signaling the flag carrier’s push toward digital transformation. PAL Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Anna Bengzon highlighted Maya’s comprehensive digital banking solutions as a key factor in the partnership decision.

“We have been looking for a partner that can enhance our Mabuhay Miles program while addressing the payment solution needs of PAL and our passengers,” Bengzon said. “Maya has the arsenal of products and services that will make travel payments more convenient not just for our passengers but also for PAL.”

Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder Shailesh Baidwan indicated that the partnership would extend beyond the initial Business Class raffle promotion. “Our collaboration with Mabuhay Miles underscores our commitment to delivering innovative and meaningful financial solutions to our users,” Baidwan said.

The partnership comes as both companies seek to capitalize on the growing intersection of digital banking and travel rewards programs in the Philippines. Maya Bank President Gelo Madrid emphasized the company’s focus on creating “seamless, innovative, and rewarding experiences” through enterprise partnerships.

While specific details about future initiatives remain under development, both companies indicated that additional program enhancements would be rolled out throughout the year.

The Mabuhay Miles program, established in 2002, serves as Philippine Airlines’ primary customer loyalty platform, offering rewards for frequent flyers across the carrier’s domestic and international routes.
