The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced today the opening of applications for its Comprehensive Air Traffic Service Course (CATS) Batch 19.

The recruitment drive comes as air travel demand continues to surge across the Philippines, necessitating additional personnel to manage the increasingly complex air traffic network. Successful candidates will join CAAP’s corps of Air Traffic Management Officers responsible for ensuring safe aircraft movements and preventing mid-air collisions.

CAAP Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo emphasized the critical role of air traffic controllers, stating that they serve as the guardians of Philippine skies, ensuring that every aircraft reaches its destination safely and efficiently.

“We encourage passionate individuals to embark on this rewarding career and uphold the highest standards of aviation safety,” he said.

Prospective candidates must submit their applications and required documentation either in person or through mail/courier services by 5:00 PM on May 30, 2025. The nationwide examination is scheduled for June 28, 2025, followed by interviews and medical examinations for successful candidates.

The training program focuses heavily on crisis response, preparing controllers to handle various scenarios including in-flight emergencies, severe weather conditions, and technical failures. This comprehensive approach aligns with international aviation standards and reflects CAAP’s commitment to maintaining strong air safety protocols.

Interested individuals can find detailed eligibility requirements on CAAP’s official social media platforms.
