Philippine Airlines (PAL), through subsidiary PAL Express, announced it will increase flight frequency between Clark International Airport and Busuanga Airport to daily services starting March 1, 2025, marking a significant expansion of its domestic network in Northern Luzon.
The route upgrade from four weekly flights to daily operations comes as part of the flag carrier’s broader initiative to strengthen domestic connectivity and support tourism growth.
Busuanga Airport serves as the primary gateway to Coron, a municipality in Palawan province renowned for its natural attractions and diving sites.
“We are excited to help foreign and domestic tourists discover the abundant wonders of Coron,” said PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang.
Ang highlighted the destination’s Twin Lagoons, Barracuda Lake, and coral reefs growing around sunken warships, which Forbes Traveler Magazine recognized among the world’s top ten scuba diving locations.
The Clark-Busuanga service will continue to operate using the De Havilland Dash 8-400 Next Generation aircraft, configured to accommodate 86 passengers. The aircraft is noted for its near-jet speeds and quieter cabin experience, suitable for the route’s one-hour duration.
Following the frequency increase, PAL’s total weekly flights to Busuanga will reach 42, including thrice-daily services from Manila and twice-daily flights from Cebu.
The new daily schedule from Clark features afternoon departures, with 2P-2678 leaving Clark at 3:45 p.m. and arriving in Busuanga at 4:45 p.m., while the return flight 2P-2679 departs Busuanga at 5:15 p.m., reaching Clark at 6:20 p.m.
This service expansion aligns with PAL’s ongoing network optimization efforts for the first quarter of 2025, which includes the recent launch of daily flights to Cauayan and upcoming tri-weekly services between Cebu and Catarman.
The airline maintains a strong presence at Clark International Airport, operating daily flights to Cebu, thrice-weekly services to Siargao, four weekly flights to Basco, and seasonal direct flights to Seoul Incheon.
Travelers interested in the new Clark-Busuanga service can make reservations through PAL’s website, mobile app, hotline, or authorized travel agents.
