HAECO, a globally recognized aircraft engineering solutions provider, has secured significant maintenance contracts with Philippine aviation companies, which signals a strategic expansion of its services in the region.

The company has signed its first base maintenance agreement with PAL Express (PALEX), covering the airline’s narrowbody Airbus A320 and A321 fleet. Starting in 2025, maintenance operations, including comprehensive D-checks, will be conducted at HAECO’s advanced facility in Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport.

Simultaneously, HAECO has broadened its existing relationship with the PAL Group by extending base maintenance services to Philippine Airlines’ Boeing 777 fleet. This agreement builds upon a recent contract for maintaining Airbus A321 aircraft and continues a partnership that dates back to 1999.

“As PAL’s base maintenance provider in Xiamen for over two decades, HAECO has consistently delivered exceptional reliability and flexibility in turnaround times, reinforcing the strong foundation of trust we have built with our customer,” Gerald Steinhoff, HAECO’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated.

PAL Express President Rabbi Vincent Ang expressed confidence in the new partnership, noting that the maintenance agreement will enhance fleet reliability and ultimately improve passenger experience.

“We look forward to this new partnership with HAECO, in enhancing the maintenance of our Airbus A320/A321 fleet which is the backbone of our domestic flights,” Ang said.

“We expect that this partnership will uphold the overall reliability of our fleet and at the same time help deliver a more positive experience to our passengers,” he added.

With a rich history spanning nearly 75 years, HAECO has established itself as a trusted Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) partner for numerous global airlines. The company’s comprehensive services include airframe, component, and engine maintenance across facilities in Hong Kong, China, Europe, and the United States.
