Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has announced the commencement of its 2025 recruitment drive for the Cadet Pilot Program 2.0, building on the momentum of its successful launch last year. The airline continues its commitment to developing commercial pilots through this comprehensive 96-week training initiative.
The 2025 recruitment cycle maintains the program’s established framework, with plans to train between 48 and 60 cadet pilots across multiple batches throughout the year. Training will continue to be conducted at the Airworks Aviation Academy at Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
The self-funded program, requiring an investment of approximately PHP 5 million, retains its three-phase structure: a four-week Aviation Foundation Course in Pasay Manila, 68 weeks of Basic Flight Training in Lapu-Lapu City, and 24 weeks of Airline Integration Training in Pasay Manila.
Cebu Pacific’s partnership with the Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) continues to provide financing options for candidates and their sponsors through personal loans or property equity loans, making the program more accessible to aspiring pilots.
The airline maintains its inclusive approach to recruitment, welcoming applications from Filipino citizens with any four-year college degree who demonstrate proficiency in English, Mathematics, and Physics, with a minimum average grade of 80% in these subjects.
Upon completing the program, graduates will receive:
- A Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating
- 200 hours of flight time experience
- Completed Airline Transport Pilot License Ground School with multi-engine simulator experience
- Type Rating qualification on either the Airbus 320 or the ATR 72-600 aircraft
The program retains its 10-year service agreement requirement with Cebu Pacific, beginning from graduates’ first productive flight, including a bond covering Airline Integration training expenses.
Prospective candidates can now submit their applications through Airworks Aviation Academy’s official website. The selection process includes aptitude testing, core skills assessment, panel interviews, and medical screening, with a screening fee of PHP 13,250 for qualifying candidates.
This recruitment cycle represents another step in Cebu Pacific’s long-term strategy to strengthen its pilot corps, with the program expected to deploy between 240 and 300 new pilots over a five-year period.
The low-cost airline placed a firm order for 70 Airbus A321neo in October last year, with options for 82 more Airbus A320neo family aircraft. The acquisition is to support Cebu Pacific’s continued network growth over the next few years, riding on the rising trend of air travel in the Philippines.
