The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is taking a significant step toward transforming the nation’s aviation sector through a strategic collaboration with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

In a landmark initiative announced on Wednesday, CAAP is working closely with eight EASA aviation experts to develop a comprehensive Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP).

The project, conducted under the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package (SCOPE) Aviation Partnership Project (APP), aims to address critical challenges and unlock new opportunities within the Philippine aviation industry.

Running from January 21-23, 2025, the high-level sessions are designed to create a strategic blueprint that aligns Philippine aviation with global standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability. This collaborative effort represents more than a technical exercise; it is a strategic move to position the Philippines as a regional leader in air transport.

The master plan will be meticulously crafted to address the unique context of Philippine aviation, focusing on enhancing connectivity, improving safety protocols, and establishing a sustainable framework for future growth.

“This initiative underscores our dedication to fostering strategic partnerships that deliver lasting benefits for the industry, travelers, and the broader economy,” said CAAP in a press release.

The project is expected to not only improve the nation’s aviation infrastructure but also create a model of sustainable and resilient air transport in the ASEAN region.
