Airbus SE has delivered 766 commercial aircraft to 86 customers worldwide in 2024, marking a 4.2% increase from the previous year’s 735 deliveries, as the European aerospace manufacturer continues to demonstrate recovery in the post-pandemic aviation market.
The company secured 878 gross orders throughout the year, with particular strength in its widebody segment, including 82 A330 and 142 A350 orders. After accounting for cancellations, net orders stood at 826 aircraft, maintaining a strong year-end backlog of 8,658 aircraft.
Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft, highlighted the year’s achievements, including the first delivery of the highly anticipated A321XLR (Extra Long Range) aircraft.
“2024 confirmed sustained demand for new aircraft. We won key customer decisions with most important customers and saw phenomenal momentum for our widebody orderbook, complementing our leading position in the single aisle market,” Scherer said.
The single-aisle A320 Family continued to dominate deliveries with 602 aircraft, up from 571 in 2023. The A220 program also showed growth, with 75 deliveries compared to 68 the previous year. Widebody deliveries included 32 A330 Family aircraft and 57 A350 Family aircraft.
The delivery figures reflect Airbus’s ability to navigate ongoing supply chain challenges while maintaining its production ramp-up targets. The manufacturer’s performance in 2024 suggests continued resilience in the commercial aviation sector, despite persistent global economic uncertainties.
Airbus will disclose its complete financial results for 2024 on February 20, 2025, which will provide more detailed insights into the company’s performance and strategic outlook.
