Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways announced Monday it will resume direct passenger flights between Hong Kong and Hyderabad starting March 30, 2025, marking the carrier’s return to the capital of India’s Telangana state.
The service will initially operate three times weekly using Airbus A330-300 aircraft configured with Business and Economy class cabins. Frequency will increase to five weekly flights from September 1, 2025.
We are delighted to be resuming our direct flights between Hong Kong and Hyderabad. These flights will provide customers with access to one of India’s most vibrant cities, known for its rich heritage and booming technology sector.
Cathay Chief Customer & Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau
“The resumption reaffirms our established presence in India and our commitment to enhancing our services in this important market. Our efforts to foster cultural connections and facilitate trade between our home city and India will continue as we further strengthen our network to grow and develop Hong Kong as a leading international aviation hub.”
The addition of Hyderabad expands Cathay Pacific’s India network to five destinations. The airline currently operates 31 weekly flights to Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. This will increase to 39 weekly flights by March 2025 and 43 flights by September 2025, including double-daily Delhi service, 10 weekly Mumbai flights, and daily flights to both Bengaluru and Chennai.
Beyond passenger operations, Cathay Cargo maintains 13 weekly freighter flights between Hong Kong and India.
The new Hyderabad service will offer connections via Hong Kong International Airport to destinations across Cathay Pacific’s global network. Passengers can also access seven Greater Bay Area destinations by high-speed ferry and two by coach through the airport’s SkyPier Terminal without clearing Hong Kong immigration.
Flight CX673 will depart Hong Kong at 21:35 and arrive in Hyderabad at 00:45 the next day. The return flight, CX672, will leave Hyderabad at 01:50 and land in Hong Kong at 09:30.
