The Ninoy Aquino International Airport’s (NAIA) oldest passenger terminal will undergo a significant renovation project starting November 6, 2024, prompting a temporary relocation of its airlines to Terminal 2.
The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced plans to renovate Terminal 4, addressing aging infrastructure and aiming to improve the passenger experience. The project, expected to conclude in February 2025, will prioritize safety upgrades and enhance passenger flow.
This comes as AirSWIFT Airlines, Cebgo, and Sunlight Air have announced their individual plans to move their operations to Terminal 2.
AirSWIFT will begin operations from Terminal 2 on November 5th, Cebgo will follow on November 7th, and Sunlight Air, which is resuming its Manila-Busuanga route on October 27th, will also utilize Terminal 2.
According to NNIC, NAIA Terminal 4 serves AirSWIFT (12 daily flights), Sunlight Air (2 daily flights), and Cebgo (36 daily flights), handling approximately 2,900 passengers daily – about 2.23% of NAIA’s total daily passenger volume.
“Our goal is to make Terminal 4 more comfortable and efficient for travelers,” NNIC stated in a press release. “While there may be some temporary disruptions, we appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we work to deliver these much-needed improvements.”
Passengers are advised to confirm their flight schedules with their respective airlines. NNIC will provide progress updates via X (@newnaiaph), Facebook (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), and their website (newnaia.com.ph).
