Delta Air Lines is set to significantly expand its operations at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport for the summer 2025 season, offering its largest schedule ever from the hub. The airline plans to operate 968 daily flights to 215 destinations, including 66 international routes, representing an increase of nearly 75 daily departures compared to summer 2024.

The expansion will see Delta offering 1.1 million weekly seats from Atlanta, reaffirming the airport’s status as the world’s largest airline hub. New international destinations include Naples and Brussels, with increased service to several European and Caribbean cities.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens emphasized the importance of Delta’s expansion, stating, “Home to the world’s busiest and most efficient airport, Atlanta’s position as a global leader for cultural and business connectivity is only enhanced by Delta’s expansion of their domestic and international network.”

On the domestic front, Delta is boosting its intra-state service in Georgia, increasing seat capacity by 20% to cities such as Savannah, Augusta, and Valdosta. The airline is also enhancing its premium offerings, with a 9% year-over-year increase in premium seating options.

As part of ongoing improvements at Hartsfield-Jackson, Delta is contributing to the airport’s $10.8 billion redevelopment program. This includes expanding Concourse D, opening a new Delta Sky Club, and introducing touchless experiences at bag drop and security using Digital ID technology.

Joe Miller, VP of Airport Operations at ATL, attributed the growth to Delta employees, saying, “Our growth and strength in Atlanta come from the dedication of Delta people who live our Brand Beliefs—Welcoming, Elevated, and Caring—every day.”

The expansion is expected to have a significant economic impact. In 2023, travel and tourism contributed nearly $80 billion to Georgia’s economy and supported over 463,000 jobs, according to the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
