Qatar Airways has signed a partnership agreement with the UEFA Champions League, becoming the official airline partner for the prestigious European football tournament until 2030.

The deal, announced on Friday, September 20, 2024, also includes sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League, and UEFA Futsal Champions League.

The partnership builds on Qatar Airways’ previous sponsorships of UEFA EURO 2020 and the upcoming UEFA EURO 2024.

Moreover, it aligns with the airline’s expanded presence in Europe, where it serves over 50 destinations from its hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said, “We are thrilled to join forces with UEFA. As the Official Airline Partner of the UEFA Champions League, Qatar Airways is dedicated to transporting thousands of fans to this esteemed competition.”

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin added, “Qatar Airways and UEFA are united in their passion for sports and global business excellence. This shared commitment is the foundation of our long-lasting partnership as we strive to provide football fans worldwide with exceptional experiences.”

The agreement extends certain rights to Qatar Duty Free, Hamad International Airport, and Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

The airline’s loyalty program will offer discounts and promotions for UEFA Champions League fans, including flight fare discounts and exclusive ticket offers.

To mark the announcement, Qatar Airways released a promotional video featuring football personalities Ricardo Kaka, Rio Ferdinand, and Fabrizio Romano.

This partnership expands Qatar Airways’ sponsorship portfolio, which already includes partnerships with FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The Gulf airline is also involved in sponsorships across various other sports, including Formula 1, MotoGP, and rugby.
