Philippine Airlines (PAL) is set to expand its service to Australia, offering 22 weekly flights starting October 27, 2024. The airline will introduce a seventh weekly nonstop frequency from Manila to Brisbane, bringing the route to daily service.

PAL now operates the most extensive network between the Philippines and Australia, with flights to four cities. In addition to the daily Brisbane service, the airline offers daily flights to Sydney, five weekly flights to Melbourne, and three weekly flights to Perth.

“We at Philippine Airlines are excited to welcome tourists and business travelers onboard our daily flights from Manila to Brisbane, and likewise on our extensive network of nonstop flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth,” said PAL President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng.

Philippine Ambassador to Australia Hellen B. De La Vega praised the move, stating, “This enhanced connectivity will significantly boost people-to-people exchanges and tourism, and facilitate greater opportunities for trade and investment as the Philippines and Australia advance our Strategic Partnership.”

Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC) President Rafael Toda added that the increased service would “aid to strengthen economic ties and collaboration between Australia and the Philippines, boosting productivity and enabling a swifter response to emerging business opportunities.”

PAL’s expanded Australian service is part of its broader network, which includes flights to 36 international destinations across Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East, as well as 32 cities within the Philippines.

The new daily Brisbane schedule starting October 27 is as follows:

  • PR 221 departs Manila at 12:05 AM, arriving in Brisbane at 9:50 AM
  • PR 222 departs Brisbane at 11:10 AM, arriving in Manila at 5:00 PM

PAL also highlighted its new Mabuhay Lounge at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, available to business class passengers and select frequent flyers.
