Emirates announced plans to introduce a fourth daily flight between Dubai and Johannesburg, starting March 1, 2025.

The additional service will be operated using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering 708 extra seats daily on the route.

The new flight, EK767, will depart Dubai at 00:10 and arrive in Johannesburg at 06:20. The return flight, EK768, will leave Johannesburg at 10:15 and land in Dubai at 20:15.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, said the expansion aims to meet increasing travel demand.

“South Africa has long been a highly popular destination for both leisure and business travellers connecting to and through Dubai,” Kazim stated.

The additional service will bring Emirates’ total weekly flights to South Africa to 49, matching its pre-pandemic capacity. The airline currently serves three South African gateways: Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.

Emirates highlighted its partnerships with South African Airways, Airlink, Cemair, and FlySafair, which provide connections to over 60 regional destinations within Africa.

The new flight will also increase cargo capacity, offering an additional 300 tonnes weekly for transporting goods such as fresh produce, meat, and cut flowers.

Emirates began operations to South Africa in 1995 and has since transported over 20 million passengers to and from the country.

The airline currently operates two daily A380 flights to Johannesburg, having introduced the double-decker aircraft on the route in 2011.

The carrier maintains exclusive lounges in Johannesburg and Cape Town for premium passengers and offers chauffeur services at all three South African gateways.
