Budget carrier Cebu Pacific announced plans to launch direct flights between Manila and Chiang Mai, expanding its international network to northern Thailand. The new route, set to commence on October 29, 2024, will operate three times weekly.

The Manila-Chiang Mai service marks Cebu Pacific’s fourth route in Thailand, complementing existing flights from Manila and Cebu to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.

Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer, said, “We share the anticipation of many Filipino travelers as we prepare to launch the only direct flights between Manila and Chiang Mai. This new route will provide our passengers the opportunity to explore Thailand beyond its urban attractions.”

Flights from Manila to Chiang Mai will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while return flights are scheduled for Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The four-hour air service will be flown aboard the low-cost carrier’s 180-seat Airbus A320 fleet.

To promote the new route, Cebu Pacific is offering a sale from August 1 to 6, 2024, with one-way base fares starting at PHP 1, excluding fees and surcharges. The travel period for these promotional fares is from October 29, 2024, to March 30, 2025.

Chiang Mai, known for its temples, national parks, and laid-back atmosphere, offers a contrast to Thailand’s urban destinations. Popular attractions include Doi Inthanon National Park, Mae Rim District, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep temple.

With this addition, Cebu Pacific’s network will encompass 35 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
