Leading Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific is set to resume flights between Davao and Hong Kong on October 27, reviving a route it first operated in 2008.
The airline will operate four weekly flights on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays using its Airbus A320 fleet. This revival marks a significant expansion of Cebu Pacific’s international presence from Davao, the largest city in Mindanao.
The Hong Kong service complements Cebu Pacific’s plans to relaunch flights from Davao to Puerto Princesa and Tacloban. Additionally, the carrier will introduce new routes linking Davao with Caticlan (Boracay) and Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport, all scheduled to commence in late October.
Cebu Pacific initially launched Davao-Hong Kong flights in 2008 as part of its Davao hub expansion. The original service also operated four times weekly, utilizing the airline’s then-new Airbus A319-100 aircraft.
The resumption of the Davao-Hong Kong route is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two cities, offering more options for both leisure and business travelers.
The Davao-Hong Kong route was previously served by Royal Air Philippines until early 2024 and by Cathay Dragon until the COVID-19 pandemic.
