AirAsia has launched a new aircraft livery featuring Singapore’s iconic attractions, including Gardens by the Bay and Mandai Wildlife Group’s wildlife parks, as part of a campaign to boost tourism from Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The “Love, Singapore” livery, unveiled on August 22, 2024, adorns an Airbus A320-216 (9M-AHZ) aircraft and features Merli, Singapore’s brand character inspired by the Merlion.
“We are delighted to partner AirAsia and our tourism stakeholders, to bring Singapore’s offerings to life in our regional skies,” said Terrence Voon, Executive Director, Southeast Asia of Singapore Tourism Board.
“Our exciting lineup of events and experiences will give travellers plenty of reasons to visit or revisit Singapore this year,” Voon added.
Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, Managing Director of AirAsia Malaysia, emphasized the importance of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route, the world’s busiest, for boosting tourism.
“This partnership is a perfect opportunity to leverage our extensive flight network to strengthen our ties between the neighbouring countries,” Mazputra said.
Gardens by the Bay, featured prominently in the livery, is excited to be part of the campaign, according to Addison Goh, Senior Director of Business Development.
“As a horticultural show garden that was most recently voted the top attraction in Asia, our chief mission is to spread our love for the plant world in new and creative ways,” Goh said.
Jean Choi, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Mandai Wildlife Group, expressed enthusiasm about showcasing the group’s parks, including the Singapore Zoo and Bird Paradise, on the livery.
“As part of the “Love, Singapore” campaign, AirAsia customers booking flights to Singapore can enjoy a special promotion on park admissions,” Choi said.
To celebrate the launch of the livery, AirAsia is offering promotional fares from SGD 85 all-in one way for travel between Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kuching, Ipoh, and Kota Kinabalu and Singapore. The promotion is valid until August 25, 2024, for travel until June 30, 2025.
AirAsia currently operates a total of 10 direct flights from Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Ipoh, Langkawi, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, and Phuket to Singapore.
