Vietnam Airlines has received its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, marking a significant step in the carrier’s fleet modernization efforts. The airline is set to receive two more A320neos by the end of the year.

The new Airbus A320-272N offers an expanded seating capacity of 182 passengers and incorporates several cabin enhancements. The new narrowbody plane seats 8 passengers in business class and 174 passengers in economy class.

Passengers aboard the A320neo will experience a wireless in-flight entertainment system, allowing for easier access to content during their journey. The aircraft’s interior features seats with a 28-29-inch pitch and a 5-inch recline.

“Vietnam Airlines fleet modernisation will continue to provide passengers aboard the A320 with memorable flying experience,” the airline said in a Facebook post.

The delivery of this aircraft, registered as VN-A513, comes as part of Vietnam Airlines’ ongoing efforts to update its fleet with more efficient and environmentally friendly aircraft.

The A320neo family is known for its reduced noise footprint and lower operating costs, which could potentially benefit both the airline and its customers in the long run.

According to Airbus, the aircraft delivers a 16% reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to previous-generation models.
