A Cessna 152 aircraft overshot the runway at Plaridel Airport on Saturday afternoon, crashing through a perimeter fence and colliding with a nearby residential property, aviation authorities reported.

The incident occurred around 1:50 p.m. when the Fliteline Aviation-operated aircraft, carrying a pilot and a student pilot, executed what officials described as a “bumpy landing” on runway 17.

According to the initial report from Plaridel Tower, the plane, registered as RP-C5656, continued without slowing down until it reached the end of Runway 35.

“The aircraft attempted to initiate a missed approach but was unable to do so due to insufficient airspeed,” the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said in a statement.

“Eventually, it surpassed the end of runway 35 and subsequently collided with both the perimeter fence and a nearby residential property,” the press release continued.

Emergency responders from the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) unit in Plaridel quickly arrived at the scene to assist the pilots. One pilot reportedly sustained minor injuries, while the other emerged unscathed. Authorities confirmed that there were no occupants in the affected house at the time of the crash.

The CAAP has announced that its Licensing and Certification Department (LCD) and the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) will conduct separate investigations into the incident.
