Budget airline Cebu Pacific will launch direct flights between Cebu and Osaka, Japan starting October 15, 2024.

The new route will operate four times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. This addition complements Cebu Pacific’s existing daily flights between Cebu and Narita.

“We [are] thrilled to launch direct flights from Cebu to Osaka,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer.

“With Japan being a top-of-mind destination for many Filipino travelers, the new route will surely give them the opportunity to visit one of the country’s dynamic cities. We also hope that this launch can encourage more travelers from Japan to explore the beauty of the Philippines.”

To celebrate the new route, Cebu Pacific is offering a promotional fare of PHP 1 one-way base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges. The promotional fare is available for booking until July 31, 2024, for travel between October 15, 2024, and March 31, 2025.

Currently, the airline will be the sole provider of direct flights on this route. However, Philippine Airlines (PAL) intended to launch direct flights between Cebu-Osaka by July 21 this year.

The PAL launch did not push through, based on data from FlightRadar24.com, after being delayed from the original July 1 target.
