Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading carrier, announced plans to resume direct flights between Iloilo and Hong Kong starting October 27, 2024. The airline will operate four weekly flights in each direction, offering improved connectivity for travelers in the Visayas region.
The Iloilo to Hong Kong route will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Return flights from Hong Kong to Iloilo will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific’s Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, stated, “With the resumption of flights to Hong Kong, CEB will be the only airline to operate international flights from Iloilo. We hope this will also make air travel even more affordable and accessible for a wider range of passengers in the Visayas region.”
The direct flights are expected to significantly reduce travel time for passengers from Iloilo. Previously, travelers had to book connecting flights through Manila, resulting in journey times of up to 12 hours including layovers. The new direct service will cut travel time to less than three hours.
Cebu Pacific claims the direct flights could save passengers up to 20% on round-trip airfare compared to booking connecting flights.
To promote the route’s resumption, Cebu Pacific is offering a promotional fare from July 26 to 31, 2024. Passengers can book flights from Iloilo to Hong Kong for a base fare of PHP 1 one-way, exclusive of fees and surcharges. The travel period for this offer runs from October 27, 2024, to March 29, 2025.
Out of Iloilo, the low-cost carrier currently offers direct flights to Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Puerto Princesa, and Manila. Cebu Pacific is also on the process of securing regulatory approvals to mount flights to Singapore.
