Low-cost carrier Air Seoul has inaugurated daily flights between Incheon, South Korea, and Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA), marking a significant expansion of international air connectivity for the Philippine destination.
The inaugural flight landed at BPIA on Wednesday at 11:18 p.m., carrying 190 passengers.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Jin Air is also set to begin operations on this route starting July 18. With these additions, BPIA now handles 15 domestic and 10 international flights daily.
The increased air connectivity is expected to bolster tourism in Bohol, known for attractions such as the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary, Chocolate Hills Adventure Park, Loboc River Cruise, Bilar Man-Made Forest, Alicia Panoramic Park, and dolphin and whale watching activities.
Air Seoul flies seven times weekly between Incheon and Bohol-Panglao onboard its Airbus A321ceo plane.
Flight RS-581 departs from Seoul-Incheon at 7:15 p.m. and arrives in Bohol-Panglao at 11:05 p.m. The return flight, RS-582, departs from Bohol-Panglao at 12:05 a.m. and arrives back in South Korea at 5:50 a.m.
The new entrant competes with Philippine Airlines, Jeju Air, Jin Air, and Air Busan on the same route.
