Qatar Airways has been crowned the World’s Best Airline at the 2024 World Airline Awards, marking its eighth win in the 25-year history of the event.

The awards ceremony, often referred to as “the Oscars of the aviation industry,” took place on June 24 at the Fairmont Windsor Park near London Heathrow Airport.

The Doha-based carrier also secured top honors in three other categories: World’s Best Business Class, World’s Best Business Class Lounge, and Best Airline in the Middle East.

Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, said, “This is a proud Qatar Airways moment and it is my honor to share this award with my hardworking colleagues. This award is testimony to our relentless dedication to providing unparalleled service and innovation.”

Singapore Airlines and Emirates rounded out the top three, placing second and third respectively.

The rankings were determined through a global customer satisfaction survey conducted by Skytrax, an independent airline review organization, from September 2023 to May 2024.

Other notable winners include:

  • World’s Best Cabin Staff: Singapore Airlines
  • World’s Best First Class: Singapore Airlines (First Class Suites)
  • World’s Best Airport Services: All Nippon Airways
  • World’s Most Improved Airline: Saudi Arabian Airlines
  • World’s Best Low-Cost Airline: AirAsia
  • World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline: Scoot

The World Airline Awards cover various travel classes and aspects of the airline experience, including cabin service, seats, lounges, and onboard catering.

Over 350 airlines were included in the final results, based on survey responses from more than 100 customer nationalities.
