Qatar Airways has expanded its sports sponsorship portfolio by renewing its partnership with UEFA to become the official airline of all men’s national team competitions.

The deal, an extension from the airline’s previous role around Euro 2020, kicks off with this year’s Euro 2024 tournament in Germany from June 14-July 14. The final will be held in Berlin.

“As the official airline partner of the men’s national competitions, Qatar Airways is committed to bringing thousands of fans to Germany for this prestigious event,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker.

Euro 2024 will be the 17th edition of UEFA’s flagship men’s tournament, featuring 51 matches across 10 German cities with around 2.5 million fans expected to attend.

The renewal comes as Qatar Airways adds a new destination, Hamburg, to its global network starting July 1, 2024. The Gulf carrier now serves five German cities and 49 European destinations in total.

“With the addition of Hamburg, we are further enhancing our commitment to the region and supporting this exciting tournament,” Al Baker said.

Qatar Airways has an extensive sports sponsorship portfolio, including partnerships with Formula 1, FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation, European club teams, and other major events.
