Philippine Airlines (PAL) has announced a partnership with Singapore-based telecom and managed security services provider ViewQwest to upgrade its network and security infrastructure on Thursday, June 27th.

The project aims to implement next-generation network and security technologies across PAL’s Philippine-based sites and branches. It will utilize a managed service framework to maintain service levels crucial for the airline’s operations.

PAL Chief Information Officer Aurea Patria Vidal said, “By embracing a cloud-based infrastructure that is secure by design, we can amplify collaboration, enable business agility, and ensure business continuity.”

The partnership was formalized at an executive briefing and project team assembly held at The Sheraton Manila. Senior leaders from both companies, including PAL’s Vice President of IT Operations Angelique Tinsay and ViewQwest’s Chief Executive Officer Vignesa Moorthy, were present at the event.

According to PAL, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to offer enhanced visibility, control, and security of the network. The airline anticipates cost advantages across its IT and network operations, including aggregated cost savings and minimal downtime with carrier redundancy.

ViewQwest CEO Moorthy stated, “We take great pride in supporting Philippine Airlines in their network and security transformation journey. This strategic multi-year partnership cements ViewQwest’s presence in the Philippines.”

The project is part of PAL’s ongoing digital innovation and transformation efforts. The airline industry has increasingly focused on technological upgrades to improve operational efficiency and customer experience in recent years.
