The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area Center 11 has unveiled two new facilities at General Santos Airport aimed at improving the travel experience for families.

The airport now boasts a lactation area with three cubicles for nursing mothers and a children’s play area that can accommodate up to 15 kids.

Both air-conditioned facilities are located on the second floor of the passenger terminal building and are open to the public.

“CAAP-GSIA not only enhances its infrastructure but also reaffirms its commitment as a community-oriented hub, continuously evolving to better serve its passengers,” said General Santos Airport Manager Joel Gavina.

The lactation area provides a private, comfortable, and hygienic space for mothers to nurse their infants, addressing a long-standing need for privacy at the airport.

Meanwhile, the children’s play area offers a safe environment for young travelers to play and unwind, potentially reducing stress for traveling families.

These additions are part of the airport’s Gender and Development (GAD) projects. Designated personnel are available to assist passengers in utilizing these new amenities.
