In celebration of National Migrants’ Day, Cebu Pacific raffled off international roundtrip tickets to six Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) during an event organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

The airline’s initiative aims to recognize the contributions of Filipino migrant workers to the nation’s economy. The lucky recipients can choose from any of CEB’s international destinations.

The celebration kicked off on June 2 with an overseas job fair in Tacloban, co-organized by CEB, select government agencies, and United Filipino Global (UFG).

The event offered over 5,000 job opportunities in various sectors, including healthcare, hospitality, accounting, and skilled trades, in countries such as Australia, Japan, Malaysia, the Middle East, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates.

National Migrants’ Day, observed annually in the Philippines, acknowledges the sacrifices and economic contributions of OFWs.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, OFW remittances reached $36.14 billion in 2023, contributing significantly to the country’s GDP.
