Philippine boutique airline Sunlight Air has expanded its domestic network with the launch of new routes from Clark International Airport (CRK) and Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) to Caticlan (MPH), the gateway to the popular Boracay Island.
Starting April 30, 2024, the airline will operate non-stop flights twice a week, every Tuesday and Saturday, on the CRK-MPH and CEB-MPH routes.
We’re pleased to be launching our new routes to Caticlan especially in time for the summer season.
Ryna Brito-Garcia, CEO of Sunlight Air
“It’s one of the best places to relax and explore various beaches in the Philippines, and we’re excited for more visitors—both local and foreign—to get to see the stunning natural wonders our country has to offer,” the airline executive added.
Caticlan, located in the province of Aklan, serves as a jump-off point to Boracay Island, known for its white sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and vibrant island life.
The area also offers hiking trails with panoramic views, the crystal clear Nabaoy River, and parasailing opportunities.
The new routes are part of Sunlight Air’s network expansion following its recent decision to transfer its primary hub from Ninoy Aquino International Airport to CRK.
From Clark, the boutique airline operates flights to Siargao and Busuanga (Coron), aboard its fleet of ATR 72-500 aircraft.
The airline’s expansion into Caticlan is expected to contribute to local tourism and provide more travel options for both domestic and international visitors seeking to explore the Philippines’ popular island destinations.
