China Southern resumes Cebu flights, adds new Shanghai service

China Southern Airlines is set to resume its flight service to Cebu, Philippines, from Guangzhou in the third quarter of 2024, while also launching new flights from Shanghai to the Philippine city, according to a report by AeroRoutes.com.

The Guangzhou-Cebu route, which was last operational until February 2020, will be reinstated starting July 12, 2024, and will run until October 7, 2024. The airline plans to operate four weekly flights using Airbus A320 aircraft on this route.

The flight schedule for the Guangzhou-Cebu service is as follows:

  • CZ-8423: Guangzhou 22:15 – Cebu 01:10 (+1 day)
  • CZ-8424: Cebu 02:20 – Guangzhou 05:25

Additionally, China Southern will inaugurate a new service between Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Cebu, starting July 1, 2024. This route will also have four weekly flights, operated by Airbus A321 aircraft.

The flight schedule for the Shanghai-Cebu service is:

  • CZ-5001: Shanghai 20:30 – Cebu 01:10 (+1 day)
  • CZ-5002: Cebu 02:10 – Shanghai 06:20

The resumption of the Guangzhou-Cebu service and the launch of the new Shanghai-Cebu route by China Southern Airlines are expected to provide more travel options and contribute to the growth of tourism and business ties between China and the Philippines.
