Cebu will take center stage as the host of the 59th Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation Asia and Pacific Regions (DGCA 59) from October 14-18, 2024.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is leading the preparations for the country’s hosting of this prestigious event.

CAAP Director General Manuel Antonio L. Tamayo affirmed during the closing ceremony of the previous DGCA conference in Bangladesh that the Philippines will showcase its renowned hospitality and service.

The conference sessions and meetings will be primarily held at the Dusit Thani Hotel and Resort in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Situated near historical sites, tourist attractions, and the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the location provides an ideal setting for the international delegates.

“Building on the spirit of collaboration, CAAP is working closely with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), and the Provincial Government Unit of Cebu to ensure a successful representation of our country at this international gathering,” CAAP said in a Facebook post.

In addition to the official proceedings, the five-day program will include tours, dinners, and social activities highlighting Cebu’s natural beauty, iconic landmarks, historical sites, and celebrated cuisine.

The DGCA conference brings together civil aviation leaders from across Asia and the Pacific to discuss key issues and collaborate on policies and initiatives for the region.
