Cebu Pacific expands Taiwan reach with new Manila-Kaohsiung route

Budget carrier Cebu Pacific is expanding its international network with the resumption of new direct flights between Manila and Kaohsiung, Taiwan, starting August 16, 2024.

The thrice-weekly service, operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, will provide travelers with more affordable options to visit southern Taiwan’s largest city.

Flight 5J-344 departs from Manila at 5:15 PM and arrives in Kaohsiung at 7:15 PM. After a 45-minute ground time, 5J-345 departs from Kaohsiung at 8:00 PM and lands at the Philippine capital at 10:05 PM.

A 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft is set to ply the new Manila-Kaohsiung route.

Kaohsiung will become Cebu Pacific’s second destination in Taiwan, joining the existing twice-daily flights to the capital Taipei.

Cebu Pacific launched flights to Kaohsiung in June 2008 before eventually ending the service.

To celebrate the new route, the airline is offering a special promotional fare of just PHP 1 one-way base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges, for travel between August 16 and October 25, 2024. The sale will run from May 30 to June 13.

“With the growing interest among passengers to travel to new destinations, we hope that this launch will encourage them to add another destination to their itinerary or cross off one they’ve been looking to visit,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer.

Kaohsiung, known for its harbor-side parks, urban landscapes, and rich cultural heritage, offers travelers a unique blend of outdoor adventures and immersive experiences.

Visitors can explore attractions like the Love River, the Hakka culture in Meinong, and the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.

The new route further strengthens Cebu Pacific’s expanding international network, which currently covers 35 domestic and 25 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
