Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ leading budget airline, has joined forces with aviation finance company Avolon in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to renovate a community center in Lang Lang, Cebu.

The renovated facility, managed by the local charity City Gates Academy, caters to underprivileged children in the area, providing them with nutritional support and a safe space to play.

The renovation project involved over 50 volunteers from both organizations who worked together to construct an outdoor kitchen, install a play area, and establish a vegetable garden space for the community center.

“Cebu Pacific has always aimed to pay forward to the communities we serve.”

“This partnership not only shows our deep commitment to social responsibility but also highlights the power of collective action and volunteerism in driving lasting change,” said Felix Lopez, Chief Human Resources Officer at Cebu Pacific.

Ciara Ruane, Chief People Officer at Avolon, expressed the company’s excitement about partnering with a key customer whose values and social goals align with their own.

“It has been an uplifting experience working together to improve the lives of the children who benefit from the important work of the City Gates Academy,” she said.

Both organizations have emphasized their commitment to supporting local communities through CSR efforts, with Cebu Pacific aiming to build stronger, more resilient communities.
