Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has reclaimed its title as the Best Airport in North America at the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards. This marks the 14th time YVR has received this accolade, solidifying its position as a leader in the aviation industry.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards, held in Frankfurt, Germany, are based on the votes of over 13 million passengers worldwide. This recognition highlights YVR’s commitment to delivering an exceptional travel experience for its passengers.

“Regaining our top spot as Best Airport in North America is a result of the dedication and hard work of our employees and everyone working here at YVR to serve travellers and our community.”

Tamara Vrooman, President & CEO at Vancouver International Airport

Vrooman acknowledged the efforts of the 26,000 individuals who work at YVR, emphasizing their role in achieving this recognition. From frontline staff to behind-the-scenes teams, their dedication to providing a seamless and positive travel experience has been instrumental in YVR’s success.

Despite the challenges posed by the global pandemic, YVR served 24.9 million travelers in 2023. The airport implemented operational improvements and collaborated with government and airlines to build resilience and ensure a more efficient and predictable travel journey.

YVR also prioritizes accessibility, implementing initiatives like the Curbside Greeting program and sign language on information boards to cater to the diverse needs of travelers and employees.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards survey evaluates customer experience across various airport service and facility areas. YVR’s consistent dedication to excellence and passenger satisfaction has once again earned it the top spot in North America.
