Japan Airlines (JAL) has been certified as a 5-Star Airline by international air transport rating organization SKYTRAX for the 7th year in a row. The airline is one of only 10 worldwide to currently hold this highest 5-star rating.

“This 5-Star Airline Rating is an excellent recognition of the high quality product and service experience JAL provides customers across all cabin classes,” commented Edward Plaisted of SKYTRAX. “With exciting new onboard products being introduced in 2024, we look forward to their continued progress.”

The rating is based on rigorous audits evaluating airlines’ websites, airport services, and inflight services.

Key areas where JAL excelled included seamless passenger experiences from booking to arrival, premium lounge offerings, new aircraft products like the A350-1000 cabin interiors, and highly trained crew delivering personalized service.

JAL stated it remains committed to enhancing the passenger experience through innovations like the JAL SMART AIRPORT program reducing wait times at 9 airports, allowing laptops and liquids to stay in bags during security screening, and introducing more fuel-efficient aircraft like the A350-900 and A321neo.

The oneworld alliance member operates a fleet of 227 aircraft serving 376 airports across 64 countries and regions as of March 2024. JAL also prides itself on operational excellence, ranking among the world’s most punctual airlines.
