Hamad International Airport (DOH) has once again claimed the prestigious title of “World’s Best Airport” at the 2024 Skytrax World Airport Awards. This marks the second consecutive year that DOH has received this accolade, solidifying its position as a leader in the global aviation industry.

The award ceremony, held at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany, also saw DOH recognized for “World’s Best Airport Shopping” for the second time and “Best Airport in the Middle East” for an impressive tenth year running.

“This is a remarkable achievement for Hamad International Airport, as it celebrates its 10th anniversary of operational excellence, connecting passengers seamlessly from all around the world,” stated Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, who has overseen the airport’s development and growth over the past decade.

Al-Meer emphasized the airport’s commitment to passenger experience, citing investments in facilities and initiatives like ‘Souq Al Matar’, ‘Orchard’, and high-end lounges. He also highlighted DOH’s dedication to pushing industry boundaries and exceeding passenger expectations.

In 2023, DOH experienced a significant surge in passenger traffic, serving over 45 million passengers, a 31% increase from the previous year. The airport also welcomed new airline partners, expanding its network to over 250 destinations.

As Hamad International Airport approaches its 10th anniversary, it anticipates continued growth and a focus on sustainability through investments in new technologies and initiatives.
