The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced Wednesday the addition of eight new airlines to its expedited screening program known as TSA PreCheck.

Air Premia, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Transat, Bahamasair, BermudAir, Iberia, La Compagnie and New Pacific Airlines have joined the rapidly expanding PreCheck program. Eligible passengers flying on these carriers can now use dedicated PreCheck lanes at over 200 U.S. airports.

“TSA PreCheck is an expedited screening program enabling low-risk travelers to enjoy a secure and efficient screening experience,” the TSA said in a press release.

PreCheck allows travelers to keep shoes, belts and light jackets on during screening. They can also leave laptops and compliant liquids in their carry-on bags.

According to the TSA, about 99% of PreCheck passengers wait less than 10 minutes at security checkpoints nationwide.

“Enrolling in TSA PreCheck is easy,” the agency stated. After completing an online application and brief in-person appointment, most new enrollees receive a Known Traveler Number within 3-5 days.

This unique number allows access to PreCheck lanes when included in airline reservations. The program is available for U.S. citizens, nationals and permanent residents traveling domestically or on flights returning to the United States.

With the eight additions, PreCheck is now available on nearly 100 airlines operating out of the U.S. The TSA continues expanding the program to streamline security for pre-approved travelers.
