Dubai-based airline Flydubai has announced the launch of flights to two new destinations in Saudi Arabia: Al Jouf and Red Sea International. This expansion brings the carrier’s network to a total of 129 destinations across 58 countries.

Flights to Al Jouf Airport (AJF) will resume on April 18th, operating twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. This route was previously served by Flydubai but was temporarily suspended.

Additionally, Flydubai will become the first UAE carrier to offer direct flights to Red Sea International Airport (RSI), with service commencing on the same date and operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. This new connection will provide travelers with convenient access to Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea resorts.

“We are pleased to further expand our network in the GCC with the launch of flights to Al Jouf and Red Sea International,” said Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at Flydubai. “We are confident that these direct flights will further support the existing strong ties and contribute to the development of the economic and tourism sectors in the region.”

Red Sea International Airport, specifically built to serve the burgeoning Red Sea tourism destination, currently offers access to two luxury resorts, with three more slated to open this year.

The ambitious project envisions a total of 50 resorts, 8,000 hotel rooms, and over 1,000 residential properties upon completion in 2030.

“The arrival of international travellers represents an exciting next phase in RSI’s development,” commented Michael White, Chief Commercial Officer of Red Sea International Airport. “We look forward to further expanding our network to serve The Red Sea and travellers from around the world.”

Flydubai’s expansion into these new Saudi Arabian destinations reflects the airline’s commitment to connecting underserved markets and bolstering travel options within the region.
